Our Origins Story

 

(Frankfort, IL) based soap formulators (and cousins) Tim and Bob aren’t what most people would picture as your typical soap makers.  In fact, they came into their “trade” by chance.

 

Tim and Bob were born just six months apart in the small rural farm town of Marshfield, WI.  They have been inseparable their entire lives.  By the age of five, both families had moved to the suburbs of Chicago.  They were always together and constantly "inventing" things, as boys generally do.  They created all sorts of things from flying go-karts (that couldn't really fly) to household chemical concoctions, getting them into a lot of trouble.  Looking back today, they feel it was all worth it.  Without the opportunity to explore and be creative as children, they may not be where they are today.  Although they spent most of their lives in the urban suburbs of Chicago, their roots still came from rural farms in Wisconsin.  As avid outdoor enthusiasts, Tim and Bob often return to outdoor recreation bringing them back to their roots in nature.  And nature is the basis for Green Envee Organics. 

 

Even as children, Tim and Bob dreamt of owning a business together.  Fast forward to 2008.  The economy was beginning its downward spiral and as a result, Bob had recently left the fast paced technology industry, while Tim was still working his full time job.   Both Tim and Bob still possessed the remaining desire to start a business.   At this point in life, they both had started their own families and had become increasingly concerned with the health and safety of their children.  One of Tim’s daughters suffered from eczema, which had caused Tim to become what some would say was “overly critical” of body care products.  Around this same time, Bob’s youngest son had developed respiratory problems.  No parent wants to see their child suffer, and Tim and Bob decided something must be done.  Their over criticism of body care products resulted in an appalling realization.  Every parent, at one point or another, has used some type of lotion on their child.  The realization was that, in good faith, you use a conventional body care product to try and help your child, when in fact; it is doing much more harm than good.   Most of the ingredients are impossible to read and a majority of the ingredients are chemically based, some of which are believed to cause cancer. 

 

Tim and Bob decided these were not items that they wanted to willfully use on their own children, or themselves, and why would anyone else?  With that thought in mind, this inspired enough motivation in the two of them to take a crack at the body care industry.  Beginning in Bob’s kitchen, they concocted their first batch of all natural organic bar soap.  Believe it or not, it turned out better than they could have ever expected.  Family members started raving about the bar soap and couldn’t wait for more.  All of this excitement had given Tim and Bob enough enthusiasm to create an all natural organic body lotion that contained ingredients that could actually be pronounced and was free of fragrances, petroleum based products, and cheap fillers.  The lotion turned out to be more of a challenge than the bar soap, however, after countless trial and error batches, Green Envee Organics became a reality. 

 

Not only are Green Envee products great for you, but they are great for the mind, body, spirit, and planet.  Green Envee takes pride in using only natural and organic ingredients, which sets them apart from many in the industry.  Tim and Bob make it a point to know where their ingredients come from, how they are cultivated, harvested, and processed.  The goal of Green Envee is to provide a phenomenal product that is not only beneficial to the person using it, but for the future of the planet as well. 

 

Tim and Bob make all of their own products to this day in New London, WI.  Using only pure essential oils which are sourced from many global communities around the world, they have created what many find to be the best body and skin care products on the market. 

 

As a way to give back, Green Envee donates all of their soap scraps to Clean the World, a not for profit, dedicated to remilling soap and distributing it to children in need.  Another passion for the two co-founders is getting children more integrally involved in nature.  Running with the notion that if our children are introduced to nature, they will carry that with them for the rest of their lives, in turn caring and respecting for the planet.

 

Quoting an ancient Indian proverb, "Treat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors; we borrow it from our Children."
